The Original Visitor Counter
When I first joined Second Life, I would often find places with a spike in the ground and square blocks on top of it. I soon found out that these were visiter counters. I found an old one in my inventory and found that Aaron LInden was the creator. The item didn’t response to my touch. I looked at the script and found that I had to say “help”, “say list”, or “reset list”. Nothing worked. More obervations into the script showed that the listener would only respond to the owner, and the owner was determined during state entry. I would either have to reset the script, or recompile. It’s funny to see that the Lindens were a bit new to scripting themselves. I would have considered using on_rez.
