Audio Streaming for Live Podcast
With this weeks live podcast being held in-world, I was contacted by 01 Hifeng about the context of the audio. 01 introduced himself as being a linux user without voice chat capability. I replied that I was going to attempt to use TalkShoe integration. I started looking into audio streaming within the virtual world of second life and found one resident who offered shoutcast server rentals at 600 L$ per day. On top of that, he provided instructions to setup a program called simplecast to stream (and save MP3 of) any sound my computer makes (such as those from in-world voice chat). I was up and running in no time at all with a 35 second delay. Awesomeness! Blue Hair #13, we are ready to rock!
