Skipping ahead of the class to Havok 4
If you have built a vehicle or even driven a car in SL, then you’ve had your problems with the limitations of physics. The platform behind this is called Havok . Cars are hard to control. Any physical object is limited to 30 prims, causing most vehicles to lack a lot of detail. Collision detection is out of wack. There used to be a way to work with joints and hinges until Linden Labs pulled that in favor of a potential upgrade and lack of use in-world. Joints were pretty problematic even after you cought onto how to use them. So what’s the news? Linden Labs Joe Miller announced that they are going to migrate Havok (1) strait to Havok 4.
